Chicken Mcgriddle to Conquer Taste Buds?
A freshly unwrapped Chicken Mcgriddle about to be eaten.
This week I took an early start to my day to make the trek over to my local McDonalds to try out the new Chicken Mcgriddle. I had some thoughts on what it was going to taste like and I was almost spot on, but when I unpackaged the Chicken Mcgriddle I noticed that the chicken wasn’t the same chicken patty that is used on the regular McChicken sandwich. This chicken patty had a spice on it. I assumed it was just pepper that was added to the patty and that was the only difference. For the most part, I was right but that small kick it gives you at the end of every bite is monumental in the overall taste. When I took my first bite my taste buds were overloaded with joy.  Its very similar chicken and waffles but without the mess. The syrup content in the McGriddle buns was perfect. It wasn’t too much to overpower the chicken, but it wasn’t too little either. The McDonalds website does not list the Chicken Mcgriddle on its nutrition facts or menu so I am assuming that it is only available at certain locations. Due to the website not having the sandwich on the online menu or the nutrition facts I have no clue what the price is or the calories that it has, but from looking at the calorie counts of the original Mcgriddles, I don't think it is very good for you. Overall I think the Chicken Mcgriddle is much better than the original McGriddle sandwiches (maybe even healthier than the originals due to the chicken instead of sausage. Check out the Original Mcgriddle nutrition facts here: https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/about-our-food/nutrition-calculator.html ) and everyone should go out and try it.
